Oxidized Bitumen 75/25, also known as Blown Bitumen or Air-Blown Bitumen, is a petroleum-based oxidized bitumen grade manufactured from Vacuum Bottom (Vacuum Residue) through a controlled air-blowing process at elevated temperature.
During oxidation, the physical characteristics of the base bitumen are modified to develop the specified properties of the 75/25 grade. With its moderate hardness and softening characteristics, this grade is generally suited to applications operating under moderate temperature conditions and may also be considered for warmer climates where the formulation and service conditions are compatible with the product. PETRO TAR CO. Oxidized Bitumen 75/25 is manufactured in its pure form, without Gilsonite, and is supplied for a broad range of industrial, construction and specialty applications.
The product can be incorporated into a wide range of construction, industrial, infrastructure and specialty formulations, including applications involving waterproofing, construction chemicals, coatings, mastics, sealants, pipe protection and other bitumen-based systems.
